BIO Lonnie Coplen, ENV SP is Founder and President of ARC Alternative and Renewable Construction LLC, a Construction Management Company, which is focused exclusively on high performance/low impact project development at the community scale. ARC projects include mobility and transportation system improvements, ultra-efficient building projects and affordable energy efficiency demonstrations for the growing zero-waste/circular economy market. ARC is currently focused on supporting New York City Building owners with Local Law 97 compliance. Lonnie also founded Skylarc Innovations, which fabricates simple, affordable energy efficiency solutions. She developed an energy efficiency calculator that enabled a novel window insulation application to gain recognition and secure eligibility for rebates in Massachusetts. Lonnie also serves as Vice President of Coalescion, a nonprofit committed to the pursuit of sustainable human survival, security, and “thrivability” by improving and expanding global security literacy. She is on the Executive Steering Committee of Localizing California Waters, and works with university students around the world through Riipen to explore new solutions to age-old problems. Lonnie provides monthly certification training to professionals for the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) Envision Sustainability Guidelines, also teaches Urban Green Council’s GPRO CM and O&M Essentials courses, and is preparing a new curriculum on sustainability development and construction administration for the New York Sanctuary for Families Economic Empowerment Program, which helps domestic violence survivors retool and reconnect to careers. Lonnie has degrees in science and literature. When not working in her business, she is preparing her off-grid house for the winter with experimental solutions to everyday living challenges.
